Sewing studios are equipped with professional sewing machines, industry-standard dress forms, cutting tables, and specialty finishing equipment. Computer labs offer an Infinity Plus plotter for patternmaking, Mimaki textile printer, software including Kaledo, Vision Fashion Studio, Gerber Suite, Lectra U4ia, Virtual Fashion Pro, and online or print trends including WGSN, here & there and Peclers.

Through the Style Lab mentorship program, selected students receive direction and inspiration for their senior collections through one-on-one critiques and guidance from concept through production. Throughout the year students have the opportunity to submit their designs to national and international competitions at all levels. During the annual SCAD fashion show, juried collections of undergraduate and graduate student work are showcased in a major production, covered by national and international media and streamed live over the Internet.

Fashion guru André Leon Talley presents a Lifetime Achievement Award in his name to an icon of fashion each spring.
